Case study: Shane Hodgson
Shane is 16 years old and left school this summer with no qualifications. He lives with his mother in supported accommodation, could be described as someone who is easily led. With no positive role model he had an unsettled way of living and no direction for his future.
He started attending the Strike football sessions at the start of the quarter and received one to one mentoring. He loves sport and as a result of IAF’s involvement Shane has now started a training programme at EYS to do Level 1 Sports. This is a full time course but his timetabling still allows his to come to the Strike football sessions so we will continue to support him when needed. Shane also uses the IAF bike loan scheme to get to EYS as he cannot afford public transport.
