Case study: Kieran Jones
Kieran was living an erratic lifestyle in semi-independent housing and has made a number of poor decisions that meant he was facing criminal convictions. Kieran had a passion for sports, in particular boxing and it was evident that this activity helped him focus his anxiety and anger and gain perspective on his life and choices. Kieran continued to attend boxing on a regular basis and over the weeks IAF staff noticed a profound change in his attitude, behaviour, well-being and outlook on life. After working with Kieran to find out his future aspirations, we identified he wanted to work towards employment, however had struggled in the past. The Princes Trust Team Programme was perfect for Kieran to help build his confidence, self-esteem and prepare him for employment. Kieran is mid-way through the programme and has shown great commitment and motivation to making positive changes in the future. He continues to attend weekly IMPACT boxing sessions and receive any support from IAF he may need.
