Case study: Kai Rockcliffe
Kai found he had to leave sixth form after falling behind with his studies when he moved out of his family home. Being an active and sporty person Kai came along to the IMPACT boxing session with a group of young people from the hostel he was living in. He showed great commitment and dedication to attending the sessions and also met with an IAF mentor to look at his plans for the future.
Kai had always dreamed of a career working for the Police Force, and after being supported to attend open evening by IAF staff, he applied for a Level 3 uniformed public service programme at West Nottinghamshire College and was offered place for the coming September. It was important to keep Kai motivated and focused so IAF referred him to the Princes Trust Team Programme, recognising the benefits this could have on his future career. He jumped at the chance and is making excellent progress on the course.
